I drafted Barkley/Mixon 1 and 2 in a league and mccaffrey/drake 1 and 2 in another league last season. Is there something to a rb/ TE or rb/wr approach to picks 1 and 2 to reduce volatility?
Congrats on getting into superflex! Its the way the industry is headed for sure, for better or for worse. Josh Allen is my pick at 1.02, he’s peak Cam Newton with a legit dominant WR and no RB to possibly cut into his goal line role. 1.02 is the sweet spot for SF startups, take whichever stud QB falls. Good luck this year!
hey zach. without any league context i would offer this advice: take all that value with Tee Higgins in the last round and pair it with Dalvin IF your first round pick is in the second half of the round. If you can throw Dalvin back and your first pick is in the top 5, keep Davante and you will still end up with an elite level RB with your first pick. hope that helps!
THANK YOU so much for answering that fantasytriage, that will really help me choose, thank you again for taking the time to answer that.
Looking at potentially underrated offenses this year there seems to be a variety of options. As training camp hype starts to come in and ADP’s shake up post SFB11 do you have any teams you’re particularly keen on who’s players all seem criminally underrated?
Obviously some will be horrid but always a few teams that crank out value.
Last years Titans come to mind as a recent example. Everyone even D.Henry was under valued @ drafts, but imagine AJ Brown, Tanehill, and C.Davis were on a lot of championship teams.
fantastic question ryan. if you want to reduce volatility, play fantasy NBA haha! but seriously, the bust rate for 1st round RBs and WRs is about equal (around 51%). this is what brought about the zeroRB strategy which is now trending more toward an “anchorRB” strategy. meaning you get one stud RB and then allow your RB2 to be “weak” while you collect WRs, a top TE, and a stud QB. fantasy football is volatile, just take a look at the “cant miss” players from 2018! i believe the most important thing you can do is stay focused throughout your draft, build depth, and then enjoy the ups and downs.
idk if that truly answered your question, but i guess i am trying to say that having solid depth behind all of your top picks is more important than who those first few selections are. let me know which way you go!
very cool question, an insightful look. immediately the Rams come to mind. Cam Akers as RB11, Woods and Kupp WR19 & 20, Stafford at QB11, and even Henderson RB49 + Higbee TE13. All of these players could smash their ADP. I havent looked at the SFB11 ADP, only because the scoring settings are so much different than a typical league, but if i am stacking or going a round early anywhere in drafts…its with the Rams.
Appreciate the response! Definitely a good call I will keep in mind for upcoming drafts Was less about SFB affecting ADP and more of it being the (unofficial) kick off of people re-engaging with prep for the fantasy season.
Ekeler. He’s due a healthy year. Has a high passing QB and beefed offensive line. Fly high my friend.
Najee. Mixon not being able to stay healthy has already proven to be a problem.
