Trade: Hollins for Campbell

I pulled off a minor trade prior to my draft tonight, sending WR Mack Hollins for WR Parris Campbell.

Hollins had a slight edge in stats last season, but he is with the Falcons now. WR2 on the Raiders versus WR2 on the run-first Falcons is a world of difference. Add in the fact the primary targets will always be London and Pitts, and maybe Bijan as a check down.

On the other hand, Campbell is getting a fresh start with the Giants, after a few injury-plagued years with Indy. I don’t think we’ve seen Campbell’s upside yet. Add in the fact the Giants WR corps is pretty limited, and Campbell suddenly looks even better. I’m not saying Campbell has WR1 potential, but he should at least be able to maintain WR2/WR3 numbers, with some flashes along the way.

As you say, a minor deal but I like it.

Parris Campbell

Remember Parris Campbell? He was Trey Palmer long before Palmer entered the NFL. Well, he was drafted four rounds earlier. Campbell has blazing speed and enticing upside, but he has rarely been able to stay healthy. He is apparently leading the way for the Giants army of slot wide receivers and could be in line to lead the team in targets for as long as he can stay on the field.

Just got this from a CBS article sent to me.

He’s kind of the WR version of Rashaad Penny. When he’s healthy, watch out!
