Akers vs Burks?

Burks is on IR and very likely off next week. I have to drop a player or maybe I can wait. Akers projects to do well the rest of this season and I can fit him in next week.

Would you hold on to Akers or just give up and say enough is enough?

He’s starting to remind me of holding on to Percy Harvin. He has the potential. We’ve seen it but something is off with him. That whole team is a mess. I’m biased because I wasted a good pick on him and I’m sure you’re still looking for a way to justify that jacobs trade. I honestly think he’ll do more harm than good for your team. Williams looked more explosive and I’m really surprised Akers even came back into the game after he fumbled. Either mcvay sees something that know one else does or he feels obligated to play him out of pity because he’s got something wrong with his head.

I think you should go with Akers. Here’s a picture of him with his agent (Akers is on the right):

I have no need to start him again but think I will see what he does for a few games. Who knows what could happen. There are no better options.

If Baker Mayfield surprises us, Akers might benefit. These are two big “ifs”.

I’m thinking that at worst Akers is a volume based RB 3 with 2 potential.
