I’m in a league where I can keep up to 1 player that I drafted last year by giving up a pick in this year’s draft 2 rounds higher than where the player was originally drafted in 2023. I pick in 8th in my 10-team snake draft. My options for this year are J. Williams (RB-Den) for a 6th, Mike Evans for a 7th or R. Mostert for a 10th. What would you do?
I would look for a new league. In all my years in fantasy that is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. Just my view.
Why do some in fantasy, who know little, think they can re invent the NFL with silly changes to look like they am smart? SMH
I would go with Evans for a 7th.
I started this league back in 1996 so I think I’ll stick with it. We added this keeper rule as a suggestion from owners in the league back in the early 2000’s. We actually like it a lot.
Thanks, that was my thought too.
Wow, just a little judgy, huh. No need to yuck someone else’s yum.
Apology. I have a problem with moving future charges up for a manager making a good move. I believe it should be like the NFL you keep your good moves and that’s it.
BUT, to each their own.
FWIW, I have 5 leagues and started when we had to use mags and something called newspapers for our stats. Our “live draft” was at the Pub with a pretty bar maid writing down our picks and making copies for all. I do know a bit.
Do you have a point?
Yes, I did. It was a response to sobe7171. I thanked you for your answer. That was my thought as well. I replied to sobe7171 on my phone and that’s how it did it. It clearly wasn’t obvious which post I replying to but in any case, that’s the explanation.
In a redraft league, we thought this was a good compromise while making it so you can’t carry over picks from the 1st & 2nd rounds from the previous year. It’s been a good add for our league and I’d say teams carry over a keeper only about half of the time. In fact, in a league where we don’t have large rosters, it makes for some interesting decisions when injuries and byes come up. We had someone carry Jordy Nelson over the entire season, the year he went down with an ACL, for a 13th round pick the following year. No one’s gone that “all-in” on the keeper since then which should tell you how unsuccessful that particular strategy is. Anyway, it adds a little spice leading up to the draft.
