Rolling along with my preseason predictions, this time with the NFC South:
-
New Orleans Saints (9-8 last season): Remember, this team only lost by overall record, mainly because QB Jameis Winston only played 7 games. They beat the Bucs twice. If he finishes the season, what will happen? Plus they added some WR depth with Chris Olave and Jarvis Landry, with the hope that Michael Thomas returns. This is a Super Bowl or bust team. Prediction: 13-4, division winner.
-
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (13-4 last season): Tom Brady is Tom Brady, no questioning that. But the rest of this team is 2 years older than their Super Bowl winning team. Two years in football careers is a lifetime. Adding old Julio Jones doesn’t help. Prediction: 10-7, potential wild card. Brady’s last season.
-
Atlanta Falcons (7-10 last season): Expect them to nudge a little closer to the playoffs, but not kick the door down. Prediction: 8-9.
-
Carolina Panthers (5-12 last season): Baker Mayfield doesn’t help here. Stepping backwards. Prediction: 3-14…
P.S. My win-loss predictions are based on the strength/weaknesses of the teams, not an in-depth rundown of the schedule.
