MVP Week 5: QB Jalen Hurts

Last year in one of my keeper leagues, I took Jalen Hurts as my quarterback, and that still ranks as one of the smartest picks I ever made, as he paid off again in week 5 this season, making him my MVP of the week.

Hurts completed 25 of 38 pass attempts for 303 yards, a touchdown and an interception while running 15 times for 72 yards and a rushing td in Sunday’s 23-14 win over the Rams, giving him a season best total of 28.32 fantasy points.

What made my fantasy team’s victory most impressive was what my team was up against: Ja’Marr Chase, another worthy MVP candidate if he had been on any of my teams. Regardless, Chase put up 44.7 points. Fortunately, Jalen’s efforts weren’t alone, as this team also had high scorers in De’Von Achane (21), Breece Hall (26.9), and the New Orleans Saints defense (24). Overall, my team won 133.72 to 108.62. While I had two other teams that won this week, this one was the most satisfying of the trio.

So who was your MVP this week?

My MVP’s so far this season:
MVP Week 1: WR Rashid Shaheed
MVP Week 2: RB Brian Robinson
MVP Week 3: QB Jimmy Garoppolo
MVP Week 4: RB Christian McCaffrey
MVP Week 5: QB Jalen Hurts

MVP Week 5: QB J.Allen. (Now 3-2 & in 2nd).
