#1 Rookie WRs Grades after Week #4

8. ATLANTA FALCONS: WR DRAKE LONDON, USC

Overall Rookie Grade: 79.8 (Rank: 1/18)

Principal opponent: DENZEL WARD
Week 4 SNAPS: 44

The Falcons won a game this week in which Marcus Mariota completed seven passes, so it wasn’t ever going to be a banner day from any of the team’s receivers. Drake London led the team in targets (seven) but caught only two passes for 17 yards. The ball location was extremely rough on most of the incompletions, including a pass in the end zone that led him into a brutal hit from Browns defensive backs.

10. NEW YORK JETS: WR GARRETT WILSON, OHIO STATE

Overall Rookie Grade: 74.6 (Rank: 4/18)

A new quarterback this week had an obvious effect on Garrett Wilson’s production for the Jets. While Joe Flacco had been one of the most productive passers in the league in terms of yardage, Zach Wilson was far from it until the final drive. His rookie receiver saw six targets, catching two of them for 41 yards. Only one of the incompletions was dropped, with Wilson actually doing well to break up a potential interception on one of them.

11. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: WR CHRIS OLAVE, OHIO STATE

Overall Rookie Grade: 76.0 (Rank: 2/18)

Principal opponent: PATRICK PETERSON
Week 4 SNAPS: 41

Chris Olave led the Saints in targets (seven) this week despite the change at quarterback. With no Michael Thomas, Olave saw one more target than Marquez Callaway and hauled in one more pass. He ended up with four catches for 67 yards and a score, and he was very close to a huge game-changing play late in the game that was broken up by Vikings cornerback Cameron Dantzler.

12. DETROIT LIONS: WR JAMESON WILLIAMS, ALABAMA

Overall Rookie Grade: N/A (Rank: N/A)

Principal Opponent: N/A
Week 4 Snaps: 0

Williams is still recovering from a torn ACL suffered in the national championship.

16. WASHINGTON COMMANDERS: WR JAHAN DOTSON, PENN STATE

Overall Rookie Grade: 63.7 (Rank: 9/18)

Principal opponent: TREVON DIGGS
Week 4 SNAPS: 44

Jahan Dotson spent much of the game being locked down by Trevon Diggs, who showed the kind of elite play he is capable of. Dotson was targeted four times, catching three for 43 yards and a touchdown, but the incompletion was picked off by Diggs on a pass that never should have been attempted given the coverage. Dotson has been arguably the team’s most consistent receiver so far this season

18. TENNESSEE TITANS: WR [ TREYLON BURKS, ARKANSAS](Treylon Burks NFL Draft profiles | PFF’%20combination%20of%20size%20(6,vertical%20weapon%20in%20the%20NFL.)

Overall Rookie Grade: 65.0 (Rank: 13/18)

Principal opponent: STEPHON GILMORE
Week 4 SNAPS: 35

A foot injury ended Treylon Burks’ involvement against the Colts this week, but it’s a less severe injury than was initially thought. The rookie was again deployed largely as a decoy in this game, seeing only three targets. He caught two of those passes for 14 yards but has more to offer this offense when he gets healthy.

The top 3 WR picks have all broken out, look like impact players and starters after just a few games.

Jury is out on Williams who should come on by the second half, and Burks who has had injury problems but another for the second half.

Dotson has played well with much competition for targets.

GB’s Watson and Pickins in Pitt from the 2nd round have also looked very good.
More in the makings as 13 WR’s were taken tin the first two rounds.

I would still lean more towards Wilson and Olave over London… Wilson and Olave have better situations.
