A Good & Fun Draft

I like Lawrence as well as Lance but my whole flow in this draft SUCKED.
I will fix it by trade or waiver in the next month.

My main focus was on our draft and am happy with it, My play at the 10 spot was to go young while still a shot for a title. I believe I did that with the “old men” on my team being Mixon and Schultz who just turned 26.

I could have been almost perfect IF Zak does not take Harris and you do not take Pitts. I could’ve had a Kiddie Core of great talent.

I have found a 10 team league to be the best. There are good players to go around and make it very competitive and you can go to waivers and actually know the names you are seeing.

Derek Brown, an actual expert here, posted a good comment on the 10 team leagues saying that TE and QB have increased value. Simple math, the top 60 players become 50 with more quality WRs and RBs. However, the same top and limited number of players at TE and QB.

For the record I did invite Axe Elf and even sent a private message with not even the common courtesy of a reply. He has no “huevos” to prove what he “thinks” he knows in print and competition,

Remember this is reading his ego.

At least you have taken the first step towards recovery–by recognizing that you need help. So many people post crappy teams and then get all butthurt when it’s suggested that they won’t finish in the top half of the league. At least you know you have work to do, so you won’t waste time getting around to fixing your team.

I guess he din’t pay attention in economics class. Yes, it’s the same top players at QB and TE, just as it’s the same top players at RB and WR. But now there are 50 starting RBs and WRs instead of 60, just as there are now 10 starting QBs and TEs instead of 12. QBs and TEs are more plentiful relative to the number of teams, and when supply goes up, value goes down.

In a 10 team league, you can basically pick your QBs from the FAs left over at the end of the draft–even in a 10 team Superflex league. I have essentially done this myself in two auction leagues this year, going into battle with a complement of $1-$2 QBs.

So let’s not fool ourselves into thinking that Axe Elf doesn’t put his money where his mouth is. But let’s not fool ourselves into thinking that the Mike Tysons of the world are obligated to accept the challenge of every loudmouth in the bar, either.

The posted results of your little “challenge” league support the notion that it would have been a waste of Axe Elf’s time and resources to participate in a league in which Derrick Henry was on the board until the middle of the second round, one owner took 3 QBs by Round 6, and the Defense run started in Round 8.

When you guys get this game figured out a little more, then maybe you can start barking up the Axe Elf tree.

I tell the truth to others why would I lie to myself. Not how I was raised, My fantasy mistakes are seldom and something to learn from.

As I posted here some time back, last year I had a bad draft in a keeper league with Ridley, Sermon, Hockenson (Inj), etc.
I nailed waivers for 4 starters and went 12-2 before covid and injury cost me the semi final. Got healthy for 3rd place game and went off for 144 points.

Yeah, I can fix this.

If I’m a dog, standing next to the Axe Elf tree, I’m not wasting time barking. I’m lifting a leg!
